Problem Description:
How to open SSH channel on my iPhone?
- With most versions of Linux, OpenSSH already comes installed for client and server side. To make sure it’s installed on both ends, we will first run an install on both sides. Run the following commands to install the server and client software needed.
- Ssh-copy-id - use locally available keys to authorise logins on a remote machine. Use ssh-copy-id on Server 1, assuming you have the key pair (generated with ssh-keygen): ssh-copy-id -i /.ssh/idrsa user@server2hostname Now you should be able to ssh into Server 2 with ssh using the private key. Ssh -i /.ssh/idrsa user@server2hostname.
*Tips: What's SSH? 'SSH' is short for Secure Shell, a network protocol for secure data communication and remote command execution. You need to firstly jailbreak your iDevice before opening the SSH channel on your iPhone.
Users needn’t be aware of any of this detail. All they need to know is that, in order to use SSH, they must first run step ssh login. Once that’s done they can use SSH like normal: $ ssh prod01.example.com Welcome to Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS (GNU/Linux 4.15.0-1036-gcp x8664) Last login: Wed Sep 11 04: from 98.210.132.79 mmalone@prod01:$.
