PD 9 ultra is locked up will not budge. It has locked up in adjustment mode. I have ended the program with task manager and restarted.....3 times. It opens up to the same pic and still locked up. I finally rebooted the machine, opened up PD 9 and it is still in the adjustment mode with the same pic but the library tab and the manual tab are both highlighted as well as the adjustment tab. Not sure how to unstick it.

Hello Janet,
That's serious!
I can't advise you on a possible cause, because I've never seen such a thing reported previously. Usually a reboot would clear errors, but your persists.
The first thing I'd do would be to completely uninstall PhD9 using a dedicated uninstaller to clear the registry footprint. I use Revo (freeware) for that purpose. After that, reboot & reinstall.
If that does not fix your issue, I'd file a ticket with the Technical Support team at CL.

Okay, I know this is lame, but I have never had to uninstall a program and then reinstall.....so I have downloaded Revo now once I uninstall and then reboot, if Revo removes PD9 from my computer how do I reinstall? Do I have to pay for it again? How does this work? Reply

No, you will not have to re-purchase PhotoDirector 9.
When you made your original purchase, you would have downloaded an installer file for PhD9, unless you purchased a boxed version with an installer disc.
Did you keep a backup copy of the installer file? Do you have a disc? The file would be named something like 'PhotoDirector_9 (followed by a series of numbers & letters).exe'
If you cannot locate the installer files, & you purchased a download version, you should have an email with the download links. You should be able to re-download the installer.
Did you purchase directly from CyberLink?

Hi Janet
Sorry to hear about your plight! I too have just had to do an uninstall then re-install( many times!) After filling out the product key was greeted with the same message. However, after closing all the windows, I found a Welcome screen with the blue launch button and the programm worked! ( I need to point out that the Cyberlink program is PowerDirector 16 and this has never happened to me before ! )
Have you tried a sustem restart?
Are you running Win 10 by any chance? My own setup has never worked properly since the dreaded FALL update, I've rolled everything back as far as I dare, as I don't want to loose anymore images!
Sadly, PhotoDirector has never worked for me since the Win 10, FALL update. Cyberlink Support are still offering suggestions as to a fix, so far, nothing has worked!
Hope you have more success
Photodirector 9 Ultra Cheers
Dave F. I just want to edit and make pictures, walk my dog and go fishing.

It is Windows 10 Pro and yes I have notice some problems since the update. I never got the blue Welcome screen. You know with LR you can go online and find 100s of fixes for problems not with PhD. I think I might be moving on to another photoediting program. I don't hold up much hope for getting any kind of technical support due to the fact I still have an opened ticket from last year on PhD8 Ultra

Janet,
I, too, am sorry it's giving you so much trouble. It really is very important to keep backup copies of all your installer files.
I'd suggest you contact CyberLink Customer Service & explain the situation. They'll be willing to assist, I'm sure.

Yes, thank you. I have contacted technical support and they have sent me the info for reinstalling. I actually did have a backup of the installer and yet it would not work for the upgrade to 9 Ultra because the error message was there was no former version. When I tried to use the installer file for 8 Ultra it said it had expired. So......we will see if technical support's instructions will work. They have sent me info for installing 8 ultra and Upgrade 9 ultra. I am assumming I need to put 8 back on my machine before I use the 9 Upgrade. That is a little abiguous in their instructions, but since the 9 Ultra is listed as Upgrade I suppose I need an 8 first. We will see. My concern is that there is a problem working with Windows 10. I'll find out soon enough I suppose.
