The Four Seasons Orchestra is a joy to hear. Their musicians are all professionals who really love classical music. They have recently performed 'The Little Engine That Could' for children with Down Syndrome and their parents. Christina Clapp, who has Down Syndrome, played Beethoven's Ode to Joy on the piano with the Four Seasons Orchestra. The Orchestra of St Luke's (a lot of the same people as the SLCE) plays with full-bodied sound and clear textures, so the lessons of early music performance practice are heeded. Dr. Dean Anderson, Music Director Conductor, La Primavera Dean Anderson’s performances are described as “charismatic” and “energetic” by audiences and orchestral players under his direction. He has actively engaged communities near and far with his passion for music. Recently completing his 8th season as the Music Director and Artistic Director for the Dana Point Symphony, he continually strives to champion a diverse blend of repertoire - ranging from the beloved works of Beethoven and Brahms, to newly commissioned works by local and international composers. His international engagements include concerts with professional orchestras in Italy, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Vietnam. He has served as cover conductor for the San Diego Symphony and has performed with members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.. In addition, he has worked with such artists as Cho-Liang Lin, Andres Cardenes, Yizhak Schotten, Smokey Robinson, Manhattan Transfer, John Tesh, Lincoln Mayorga, Arlo Guthrie, and Dick Dale. A versatile and collaborative conductor, Mr. Anderson’s performances include major ballet works such as the Nutcracker, Peter and the Wolf, and La Cigale with ballet companies such as the Anaheim Ballet, Nouveau Chamber Ballet, and the Montage Dance Theater. He has also conducted numerous operas such as Die Zauberflote, Gianni Schicchi, Pirates of Penzance, Mikado, Il Segreto di Susanna, Hansel and Gretel, I Due Figaro, Daron Hagen’s Little Nemo in Slumberland and many more. One of the highlights of his career was his Walt Disney Hall debut performance of Marcos Galvany’s O My Son. He was the first American citizen to conduct the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet Orchestra in 2011. He also led the Southern California Chamber Ensemble performance of traditional chinese and japanese music for pipa and erhu with Tu Shan Xiang and George Gao in Nagoya, Japan. | Val Jamora Conductor, Sinfonia Val Jamora is a well established music educator in Southern California, having taught high school and middle school music since the mid 1990s. He received a dual bachelors degree in psychology and music education from CSU San Bernardino in 1994, and a masters degree in instrumental conducting from CSU Los Angeles in 2002. He studied conducting with Dr. Thomas Verrier, Allan McMurray and Dr. Luis Gonzales. He also received training in saxophone performance with Jack Fuesler, Charles Richard and Dr. Jeff Benedict. Prior to working at Corona del Mar, Mr. Jamora was the director of bands at Bloomington High School and Ruth O Harris Middle School in Bloomington CA. He is also a long time staff member and conductor at Arrowbear Music Camp, and is currently one of the primary conductors with the Four Seasons Youth Orchestra. His honors and distinctions include the PTA Honorary Service Award, The Bill Boyer Excellence in Teaching Award and was recognized as the High School Teacher of the Year for Newport-Mesa Unified School District.
